Everkept began with a simple belief — that the most meaningful gifts aren't just bought; they're lovingly made.
We are a mother and daughter. We work from our home in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, usually at the same table, with a basket of yarn between us and rather more unfinished projects than either of us will admit to.
It started the way these things usually do — making something small for someone we loved, and watching them keep it. Not use it up. Not throw it away. Keep it. That was the whole idea, and the name followed from it.
Why crochet
A bunch of flowers is beautiful for five days. A box of sweets is gone in an evening. We wanted to make the kind of gift that is still there a year later — on a desk, in a drawer, worn in someone's hair on an ordinary Tuesday.
Crochet is slow. A single flower takes the better part of an hour, and a bouquet takes days. That slowness is the point. You cannot rush it, and you cannot fake it, and anyone holding the finished thing can tell.
How your order is made
Nothing here sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer. When you place an order, we start making it — which is why we ask for a few days before it ships.
It means your piece was made after you decided to give it, by two people who knew it was going to someone in particular. Every stitch, every detail, and every package is prepared with care, hoping it becomes a small part of someone's cherished story.
What you'll notice
No two pieces are identical. The tension of a stitch shifts slightly between one afternoon and the next; a petal sits at its own angle. We could machine that out. We'd rather not — it's the difference between a product and a thing someone made.
